Job Description

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to process payments in a Patient Accounting System (PAS). This position requires adherence to policies and procedures while ensuring accuracy in all payment-related tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to remain calm and team-oriented in stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to organizational policies and fiscal responsibility standards.
  • Follow established business office standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Understand the unique needs of patients across different age groups.
  • Engage in activities promoting professional growth and behavior.
  • Communicate daily operational updates to the Manager.
  • Process and post payments, including electronic funds transfers (EFTs), over-the-counter payments, mail, and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy in the Patient Accounting System (PAS).
  • Balance and close all daily payment batches.
  • Work on rejections in the system daily and assist with aging denials and payer issues.
  • Identify and notify the supervisor of trends with insurance coverage, contract discrepancies, or coding updates.
  • Maintain collaboration with the billing coordinator, collection specialist, and scheduler to ensure billing accuracy and minimize scheduling errors.
  • Provide support to admitting, office assistant duties, insurance verification, scheduling, and month-end processing as needed.
